The goals included a Victorian Period look and universal design features. The use of an induction cooktop with safety from a flame was incorporated as young ones begin to help in the kitchen and has become the go to. Easy access to pans hung on the wall and wider isles for wheelchair mobility was incorporated. Other interesting features like the touch less faucet and anti-microbial copper sink are never a bad idea.

Before - Eat in Breakfast area, Looking toward the mudroom. While space was expanded back and out, the location of this area is similar. There are more windows and a more gracious mudroom

Before - Existing sink and window removed. This is now the area to the right of new range. Refrigerator is in similar location however, the the room was widened.

Before - Stove wall and area to the left are now the “scullery” area. With the coffee station on the right, appliance storage on the right. and open shelving over the second sink and dishwasher.

The kitchen was designed with universal design ideas. The purpose was to make things accessible to all. Examples include refrigerator and freezer drawers, touchless faucet, french door oven for easier access. A pull out pantry next to the stove. Woodharbor Signature Cabinets for Clawson Cabinets

Retractable doors on the “self help coffee and tea station” and the appliance garage help to hide some of the counter top appliances when not in use. Cabinets are Woodharbor Signature line for Clawson Cabinets.

The kitchen features Woodharbor Custom Cabinets for Clawson Cabinets— Oxboro Door, Flush Inset, Painted Maple. with soapstone counters on surround. Island features a custom copper sink with a Madre Perola Quartzite counters. Island Cabinets are also Woodharbor Custom Cabinets for Clawson Cabinets with the Oxboro Door, Flush Inset, however, the finish is the Knotty Alder in Rustic Chestnut finish to give it that antique feel. Other features include, Wolf Sub Zero Appliances including the Induction cooktop paired with a Gas Burner so the Chef has choices. The New Pro 48 gives options as well with both freezer doors and drawers and refrigerator door and drawers…again, a universal design to assist cooks of all sizes and accessibility challenges.

Wall ovens with French doors are great for accessibility for those with a shorter reach. Pull out pantry to the right of ovens is perfect for dry storage and again accessibility.
